Welcome to Beginning Spanish ages 5 to 8, suitable for scholars who possess enthusiasm for learning a new language, willingness to participate in speaking activities, and an open-minded attitude toward other cultures.
This introductory Spanish course focuses on foundational vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple conversational phrases. Each week covers a new theme, with interactive activities, songs, and games to reinforce learning and build confidence in speaking Spanish.
Scholars will gain foundational conversational skills in Spanish, including basic greetings, introductions, and essential vocabulary. They will be introduced to elements of Spanish-speaking cultures, fostering an appreciation for diversity. Through interactive exercises, scholars will build confidence in speaking, listening, and understanding simple Spanish, establishing a solid foundation for future language learning.
In this class, students will learn the basics of the Spanish language alphabet, colors, numbers, and animals. They will be able to answer easy questions about themselves, say their names, ages, introduce their close family, and how to greet. Students will acquire practical vocabulary lists and introduction to fundamental Spanish grammar. They will also learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions of day to day use.
At the end of the course, the students will improve their vocabulary, learn to pronounce each vowel and consonant, they will be able to pronounce all words correctly, become more fluent in Spanish, and will have the confidence to hold a short conversation with a Spanish speaker.
