Members should enjoy playing games, be open to learning new rules and strategies, and have a positive attitude toward collaboration and friendly competition. This club is ideal for children who love interactive and engaging activities in a group setting.

The Board Game Club is a welcoming, child-led space where members can explore a variety of board games, from classics to modern favorites. This club emphasizes fun, friendly competition, and collaboration while fostering strategic thinking, problem-solving, and social interaction. Each session introduces new games or challenges, giving members opportunities to learn and teach one another in a relaxed and engaging environment.

Through weekly meetings, members will develop strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills through gameplay; improve communication and teamwork by collaborating or negotiating with peers; practice good sportsmanship and conflict resolution in a fun, competitive environment; learn new games and explore different genres, from strategy to storytelling games; build confidence and social skills through regular interaction with a supportive group.

Club Structure
  • Welcome & Game Selection
    • The session begins with a quick check-in, where members catch up, share game ideas, and decide which games to play. Depending on the group’s size and preferences, members may choose to play one game as a group or split into smaller teams.
  • Game of the Day or Featured Game
    • Each week features a “Game of the Day” or a brief introduction to a new or popular game. The facilitator or an experienced member explains the rules and provides tips, ensuring everyone understands before starting.
  • Gameplay & Strategy
    • Members dive into gameplay, practicing strategies, making decisions, and interacting with peers. The focus is on having fun, improving skills, and fostering good sportsmanship. Facilitators are on hand to assist with rules or offer guidance as needed.
  • Wrap-Up and Debrief
    • At the end of each session, members reflect on the games they played, sharing what they enjoyed, strategies they learned, and moments of fun or excitement. This encourages communication and sets the stage for the next session.
Monthly Themes and Focus
  • To keep the club dynamic and engaging, each month will highlight a specific genre or style of board games:
  • Classic Games
    • Enjoy timeless favorites like Chess, Checkers, Monopoly, and Scrabble.
  • Strategy and Tactics
    • Dive into games that emphasize strategy, such as Catan, Risk, or Ticket to Ride.
  • Cooperative Play
    • Explore games that require teamwork, such as Pandemic, Forbidden Island, or Codenames.
  • Party Games and Fun Challenges
    • Have a blast with lighthearted games like Uno, Pictionary, or Apples to Apples.
  • Themes will rotate with opportunities for members to suggest or introduce their favorite games.
